My name is Ruth Mhic Adaim and I would like to introduce myself as the principal of Gaelscoil Shliabh Rua. I have been involved in primary education for 22 years and have been a part of Gaelscoil Shliabh Rua since 2013.
I was chairperson on the board of management from 2013-2015, then in 2015 I was appointed as a teacher and deputy principal. I have been principal since April 2018.
My son was one of the first 8 children in Naíonáin Bheaga, when the school began back in 2013. Both my children attended Gaelscoil Shliabh Rua and have moved on to secondary school now.
We are a multi-denominational Gaelscoil, providing a high standard of education through the medium of Irish. Our mission is to foster a culture of respectfulness and inclusivity while placing an emphasis on the quality of relationships between pupils, staff and parents/guardians.
It has been an honour and a privilege to be a central part of the development and growth of Gaelscoil Shliabh Rua since 2013. Our school is going from strength to strength and I am very proud of where we are now.
