Letter from the Principal

My name is Ruth Mhic Adaim and I would like to introduce myself as the principal in Gaelscoil Shliabh Rua.  I have been involved in education for 17 years and have been a part of the school since it opened with 8 children in 2013.  For the first two years I was chairperson on the board of management, then in 2015 I was appointed as a teacher and deputy principal.  My 2 children attend the school. My son is one of the original 8 children who started in 2013. Our current enrollment is 191 and two junior infant classes will  start in September.

Gaelscoil Shliabh Rua is an all-Irish school with a multi denominational ethos.  We have a wonderful school here with an enthusiastic staff who are dedicated to helping each child reach their potential.  Teaching and learning take place in a positive safe environment. Our main aim is that the children under our care are happy and content in Gaelscoil Shliabh Rua.

It has been an honour and a privilege to be a central part of the development and growth of Gaelscoil Shliabh Rua over the last 6 years.  The school has gone from strength to strength and I am very proud of where we are now.
