Gaelscoil Shliabh Rua is a multi-faith Gaelscoil under the patronage of the Irish-language Schools Patronage Foundation.

We are very proud of the nice and positive atmosphere we have created here at school. There is an emphasis on kindness and mutual respect. We also emphasize strong relationships. When there are positive relationships among the school community, this encourages a high standard of learning and teaching.

Some strategies to create a positive atmosphere are:

Religion in our school

Our aim is to help the child develop their understanding skills, how to think critically and develop a better understanding of different religions. The different religions are taught with the ‘Heart of the School’ curriculum teaching that no one religion has the upper hand.

We believe that parents and organizations have a responsibility to teach their children whatever religion they want outside of school time. A child is never left out because of their particular religion.
